Job summary

MEDHOST is seeking an Account Follow-up Representative II to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances on hospital patient accounts. The role involves learning hospital systems, conducting research, and working with third-party payors to obtain information for resolving unpaid claims.

The position supports a remote work model across the United States. You will handle high-volume follow-up, gather essential data, and prepare claims for reconsideration or appeals while maintaining

Qualifications

• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes impacting insurance reimbursements.
• Experience with healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
• Proficiency with telephone systems for outbound/inbound calls.

Responsibilities

• Follow-up on hospital patient accounts outstanding for insurance payments and verify claim status.
• Work 40–50 accounts per day for assigned payors.
• Gather demographic, clinical, and insurance information to pay claims.
• Identify and prepare less complex claims for reconsiderations and appeals.
• Deliver education and training for new hires and assist less experienced representatives.
• Research patient accounts and route through appropriate workflows.
• Review adjustments per payor and client guidelines.
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve project issues and workflows.
• Maintain MEDHOST Quality Management System compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Attend role-based education courses.
