Job summary

MEDHOST is seeking an Account Follow-up Representative II to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances on hospital patient accounts. The role requires research, data gathering, and collaboration with third-party payors to secure payment and ensure compliance.

You will learn multiple hospital systems, handle complex follow-up tasks, and support training for newer team members while working remotely across the United States.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes impacting insurance reimbursements.
• Familiar with insurance follow-up processes and healthcare reimbursement concepts.
• Proficient with telephone systems for outbound/inbound calls.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude and professional under pressure.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; 3+ years of related experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Timely follow-up on outstanding insurance payments and rebilling as needed.
• Handle 40–50 accounts per day for assigned payor(s).
• Gather demographics, medical records, authorizations, and insurance information.
• Identify and prepare less complex claims for reconsiderations and appeals.
• Deliver education and training to new hires and assist peers.
• Research accounts and route them through appropriate workflows.
• Review adjustments per payor and client guidelines.
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve issues and update workflows.
• Maintain MEDHOST Quality Management System compliance and training.
• Attend role-based education courses and participate in projects.
