Job summary

MEDHOST, a leading healthcare IT provider now part of Harris Computer, is seeking an Account Follow-up Representative II to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances on hospital patient accounts. This remote role supports learning multiple hospital systems and collaborates with third‑party payors using AI-enabled tools while maintaining security and compliance.

You will handle 40–50 accounts daily, gather demographic and insurance information, and escalate or appeal as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in healthcare revenue cycle.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes affecting insurance reimbursements.
• Understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
• Proficiency with telephone systems and customer service.
• MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• High School diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Timely follow-up on hospital accounts to verify insurance payment status and rebill as needed.
• Handle 40–50 accounts per workday for assigned payor(s).
• Gather demographic, clinical, and insurance information to support claim payments.
• Identify and prepare less complex claims for reconsiderations and appeals.
• Deliver education and training to new hires and assist less experienced staff.
• Research accounts with outstanding balances and route through appropriate workflows.
• Review and adjust accounts according to payor and client guidelines.
• Participate in projects to fulfill contractual services with clients.
• Coordinate with other teams to resolve project issues and improve workflows.
• Maintain MEDHOST Quality Management System compliance and regulatory requirements.

Skills
