Job summary

McGraw Hill, a leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is seeking an Instructional Designer for Science K-12. This remote US-based role focuses on assembling high-quality content and robust digital learning solutions across formats used by educators and students daily.

The position supports cross-functional collaboration with product, content, and design teams, and includes mentoring junior designers while ensuring accessibility and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Education Technology or related field is required.
  • 2–5 years of experience in digital content development including teaching and learning materials.
  • Proficiency in authoring tools and LMS platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop digital curriculum assets including e-books, assessments, simulations, and interactive content.
  • Review and refine content storyboards for instructional effectiveness and engagement.
  • Partner with product management and content teams to optimize curriculum structure and delivery.
  • Lead digital content workflows from development to QA, and analyze feedback to improve experiences.
  • Mentor Associate Instructional Designers on content development tools and best practices.
  • Ensure all digital content meets accessibility (WCAG) and usability standards; troubleshoot issues in authoring tools.
  • Contribute to vendor collaborations, manage launch and status meetings, and develop content guidelines.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams to meet product requirements and schedules.
