Job summary

National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) is seeking a Manager, Instructional Design to craft and implement online learning materials that advance math and science education. This remote-first role reports to the Director, Program Design & Innovation and can be performed from anywhere in the contiguous United States.

You will lead a small team of designers, SMEs, and content developers, apply ADDIE and adult learning theories, and ensure culturally responsive content while integrating

Qualifications

• Experienced: At least 3 years designing and implementing LMS platforms; knowledge of adult learning methodologies and instructional design theories for online and in-person settings.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficiency designing within LMS platforms and using authoring tools; preference for Articulate and Articulate 360.
• Strategic Thinkers: Anticipate challenges and opportunities with foresight to achieve long-term goals.
• Results Driven: Prioritize tasks, solve problems, and deliver measurable results aligned with priorities.
• Nimble Learners: Embrace challenges with curiosity and creativity; learn from successes and failures.
• Team-Oriented: Build partnerships and foster an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging online learning materials (modules, videos, infographics, simulations).
• Apply ADDIE and adult learning theories to content development.
• Ensure materials reflect current culturally responsive pedagogy.
• Support hybrid delivery by integrating in-person and online elements.
• Use LMS to deliver and track participant learning.
• Utilize authoring tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Firefly, Camtasia).
• Lead & develop a team of designers, SMEs, and content developers.
