Job summary

Savista is hiring a detail-oriented Inpatient Coder for a fully remote role in the USA. You will apply ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines to inpatient rehab records, ensure accurate DRG assignments, and support coding quality across teams.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in inpatient coding (rehab preferred), EMR experience (Envision a plus), and professional credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS) are preferred. Strong research, organization, and deadline-driven skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience, rehab coding preferred.
• Familiar with ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG assignments.
• Experience with EMR systems; Envision preferred.
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification preferred.
• Strong research, analytical thinking and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review and code inpatient rehab records using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Analyze clinical documentation to ensure accurate DRG assignment.
• Research complex coding questions per regulations and payer rules.
• Collaborate with providers, CDI, and internal teams for accuracy.
• Utilize EMR and encoder systems to review patient accounts.
• Maintain productivity and quality while staying current on coding updates.
• Identify opportunities for documentation and process improvements.
