Job summary

Savista is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder to review and code inpatient rehabilitation records, ensuring accurate DRG assignment and compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of inpatient coding experience, with rehabilitation coding preferred, and strong analytical skills to research complex coding scenarios. This role supports collaboration across clinicians and CDI teams in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience.
• Rehabilitation coding experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG guidelines.
• Experience with EMR systems; Envision preferred.
• RHIA, RHIT or CCS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and code inpatient rehabilitation records using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Analyze documentation to ensure accurate DRG assignment.
• Research complex coding questions per regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with providers and CDI teams to improve documentation.
• Use EMR/encoder systems to review and code patient accounts.
• Maintain productivity and quality while ensuring accuracy.
• Stay updated on coding changes and best practices.
• Identify opportunities for documentation and process improvements.
