Pena4 Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote, W2 regular employment arrangement. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of IP PCS coding experience and CCS certification, with preference for OP coding experience.

Proficiency in Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, and EPIC is expected. The role emphasizes accurate coding of inpatient and outpatient accounts, DRG optimization, and ongoing professional development.

Competenze

• At least 5 years of inpatient PCS coding experience.
• CCS certificate is required.
• At least 3 years of outpatient coding experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Review full medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Ensure correct sequencing of diagnoses and procedures with high accuracy.
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with support from computer systems.
• Maintain consistent performance, productivity, and quality.
• Escalate when more information is needed for accurate coding.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and share updates with colleagues.
• Complete assigned tasks conscientiously and reliably.
