Job summary

Pena4 Inc is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) to support remote coding of inpatient and outpatient records. The role requires strong IP PCS expertise and a drive for accuracy, with proficiency across ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS/CPT, and relevant coding guidelines.

Key qualifications include 5+ years IP PCS coding, CCS certification, and 3+ years OP coding preferred. This is a full-time remote position with immediate start and a coding assessment as part of the process.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certificate is required.
• At least 3 years OP coding experience preferred.
• 100% remote assignment.
• W2 regular employment, full-time.

Responsibilities

• Examine complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Accurately sequence diagnoses and procedures, targeting high accuracy.
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with computer system support.
• Maintain consistent performance and steady productivity and quality.
• Hold accounts when more information is needed and coordinate with staff.
• Regularly review coding literature and stay current with guidelines.
• Complete assignments as directed by management reliably.
• Pursue continuing education opportunities.
• Collaborate with team to meet department and client goals.
• Perform related duties or special projects as required.
