Job summary

Pena4 Inc is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote, full-time W2 position. Candidates must have 5+ years IP PCS coding and be prepared to take a coding assessment test.

Inpatient and outpatient coding proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT is essential; experience with Cerner, PowerChart, 3M, and EPIC is preferred. Start date is immediate; the role requires weekday hours with a regular daytime shift.

Qualifications

• IP PCS coding experience (5+ years) required.
• OP coding experience (3+ years) preferred.
• CCS certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Review complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures to achieve accurate DRG assignments.
• Strive for high accuracy and productivity in coding.
• Consult with staff for additional information when needed.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and literature.
• Complete assignments as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education opportunities.
• Collaborate with team to meet department goals.
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned.
