Optum360, part of UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a skilled inpatient DRG coder to join our remote team. You will assign ICD-10 CM/PCS, DRG and abstraction with adherence to coding guidelines and quality standards.

Requires AHIMA/AAPC credentials and 3+ years in inpatient DRG coding in acute care, plus proficiency with Excel and EMR systems. Telecommuting from anywhere in the US is permitted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher.
• AHIMA/AAPC credentialed coder (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, etc.).
• 3+ years inpatient DRG coding in an acute care setting.
• 3+ years ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG coding with encoder.
• Proficient PC skills including Excel and EMR systems.

Responsabilités

• Identify ICD-10 CM/PCS/DRG assignments per guidelines.
• Expert knowledge in inpatient DRG coding.
• Abstract data elements during chart reviews as needed.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity per policy and guidelines.
• Query physicians when appropriate.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines from QM managers and directors.
• Participate in coding department meetings and training.
• Handle additional responsibilities as assigned by manager.
