Job summary

Optum is seeking a Certified Sr. (IP) Acute Edits Medical Coder to work remotely within the U.S. and code inpatient and outpatient services with ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG focus. You will review charts, ensure policy compliance, and provide feedback to providers under senior guidance.

Ideal candidates hold AHIMA/AAPC credentials and have 3+ years inpatient coding experience in a hospital/trauma setting, with strong MS Excel and EMR skills. Normal hours are 8:00am–5:00pm, with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• 3+ years inpatient ICD-10-CM/PCS coding with DRG experience.
• Follow AAPC/AHIMA guidelines and privacy standards.
• Proficient in EMR systems and Windows Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient services and assess DRG impact.
• Code CPT and ICD-10 for outpatient services per guidelines.
• Provide documentation feedback to physicians and query when needed.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in trainingen.
