Job summary

BayCare is seeking an Advanced Inpatient Coding Specialist to ensure accuracy of inpatient records across multiple service lines. This remote role supports physicians and clinical teams.

You will review complex encounters, manage queries, and mentor junior coders while aligning with MS-DRG assignments and PSI/HAC reviews. Requires CCS and 5+ years inpatient experience; RHIT preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of acute care experience.
• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience.
• Must have CCS certification.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex inpatient documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to ensure accurate coding of complex conditions.
• Create and manage physician queries and monitor bill hold reports.
• Mentor and support junior coders as needed.
