Job summary

BayCare is seeking an Advanced Inpatient Coding Specialist for a remote role. The position requires extensive inpatient coding expertise, including ICD-10-CM/PCS, with CCS certification and RHIT preferred.

Remote eligibility is restricted to residents of FL, GA, NC, or SC, and a full-time schedule applies. The role involves analyzing complex inpatient documentation, mentoring junior coders, and collaborating with Clinical Documentation and Quality teams to ensure accurate MSDRG assignments.

Qualifications

• Five years acute-care coding required.
• Three years inpatient coding experience.
• CCS certification required; RHIT preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient encounters using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Collaborate with clinicians for accurate documentation and coding.
• Mentor and train junior coders and students.
