Job summary

BayCare is seeking an Advanced Inpatient Coding Specialist for a remote role. You will analyze inpatient records to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, work with clinicians for complex diagnoses, and query physicians as needed.

Requires CCS certification, 5 years Acute Care and 3 years Inpatient Coding experience; RHIT preferred. Remote position; must reside in FL, GA, NC, or SC. BayCare offers comprehensive benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• CCS certification is required; RHIT is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years Acute Care experience.
• Minimum 3 years Inpatient Coding experience.
• Remote position; must reside in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina or South Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Analyze multi-day, multi-specialty inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes.
• Collaborate with medical staff for accurate diagnosis assignments including complex conditions.
• Formulate physician queries and monitor bill hold reports; liaise with Clinical Documentation and Quality teams.
• Mentor and train Coder I/II/III and students as needed.
