Job summary

You will generate physician queries when documentation is ambiguous, maintain coding ethics, and work with the Corporate Director of Documentation and Reimbursement to align services with organizational goals.

Qualifications

• RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CPC certification from AHIMA required.
• Minimum of 2 years inpatient coding experience in LTAC or Acute Care.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS, MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and APC coding principles.
• Familiarity with 3M Coding Software preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to inpatient claims based on documentation.
• Review documentation and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coding quality and integrity.
• Generate physician queries to clarify ambiguous or conflicting documentation in accordance with coding ethics.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Director of Documentation and Reimbursement to align coding services with organizational goals.
