Mercy is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist for a remote opportunity. The role involves reviewing medical records across inpatient, outpatient, and professional services to assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes.

The coder must follow AHIMA standards and official guidelines, ensuring compliant coding practices. Preferred candidates have RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC or CIRCC credentials or are on track to complete within 6 months.

Qualifications

• 3 years coding experience in ICD-10-CM diagnoses/procedure coding and HCPCS/CPT coding.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze documentation in medical records to assign diagnoses/procedure codes.
• Adhere to AHIMA Standards and official coding guidelines.
• Code for inpatient, outpatient and professional services as described by physicians.
