Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking a Remote Inpatient Coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient encounters from a remote setting. The role requires interaction with Clinical Documentation Specialists to ensure accurate MSDRG assignments and timely billing.

Expertise in 3M encoder and EPIC EHR is required, with 4+ years of inpatient coding experience. The position offers weekly pay, a remote schedule, and standard business hours with potential extensions beyond the initial term.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years recent acute care hospital inpatient coding and abstracting experience.
• Recent Level I OR II Trauma experience.
• CCS Credential required.
• Extensive knowledge with 3M 360 and EPIC software.
• Strong communication (written/verbal).
• Must have ah experience in writing queries.
• Must be technically savvy.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnosis and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Monitor bill hold reports.
• Liaise with Clinical Documentation Specialists for ICD-10 inpatient encounters for accurate code and MSDRG assignments.
• Communicate with the Workforce Manager when necessary.
• Maintain high accuracy and productivity standards.
• Knowledge of medical/surgical terminology.
