Job summary

micro1 is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist contractor in the United States to support inpatient coding accuracy and data quality. You will apply your ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS expertise to determine diagnoses and DRG outcomes, working with clinical docs and AI-generated notes.

Ideal candidates hold active CIC/CCS/RHIA/RHIT or equivalent credentials, have inpatient coding experience, and can dedicate at least 10 hours per week. This role offers remote engagement and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Inpatient coding experience with ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS and DRG concepts.
• Ability to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and MCC/CC impact on DRG.
• Familiarity with coding guidelines and AHIMA/AAPC standards.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS coding.
• Determine DRG assignments considering MCC/CC and POA.
• Evaluate AI-generated notes against coding standards and data quality.
