Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a part-time Medical Records Coder to code inpatient, observation, and ED records with accuracy using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4. The role requires at least two years of inpatient coding experience and knowledge of UHDDS guidelines, AHA standards, and encoder tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years inpatient records coding experience.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT-4 and encoder systems.

Responsibilities

• Review records and code all significant diagnoses and procedures per AHA/AHIMA/UHDDS guidelines.
• Code Inpatient, Observation, Outpatient Surgery, and ED records.
• Validate DRG assignments and maintain documentation compliance.
• Abstract data into the system and ensure data quality with downtime procedures.
• Support DNB and accounts receivable goals, participate in performance improvement.
