Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. You will assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, and manage coding accuracy and productivity benchmarks.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of inpatient coding experience, hold CCS/RHIT/RHIA certifications, and excel in documentation improvement and communication with hospital staff. We offer training, equipment, and mentorship in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Sequence and abstract medical codes from patient records with precision.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues with stakeholders.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks and high coding accuracy.
