Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our remote team. You will assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, audit coder work, and drive documentation improvement initiatives from your home workspace.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of inpatient coding experience and certifications (CCS/RHIT/RHIA) are preferred. Strong communication skills are essential in a collaborative, fully remote setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience
• Certification in CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision.
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 Coders as applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Foster professional communication with colleagues and hospital staff.
