Job summary

Mosaic Life Care in Missouri seeks an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute inpatient services, including LTACH and swing bed. You will query clinicians for documentation and ensure accuracy for MS-DRG/APR-DRG, while mentoring coders and supporting compliance.

The role emphasizes quality and education in a collaborative care setting. You will work with CDI partners and revenue teams to improve documentation and analytics, with a focus on patient care and regulatory

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years HIM inpatient acute care coding experience.
• Coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy.
• CCS, RHIA or RHIT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Code ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient services per guidelines.
• Query providers to improve documentation for severity of illness and mortality risk.
• Mentor and train coders.
• Assign MS-DRG and APR-DRG in alignment with guidelines.
• Collaborate with CDI, revenue integrity and patient financial services.
• Ensure data accuracy for regulatory reporting.
