Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute inpatient, rehabilitation, swing bed and LTACH services. You will query providers to improve documentation and assign MS-DRG/APR-DRG in alignment with guidelines, while mentoring other coders.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in HIM inpatient coding, CCS/RHIA/RHIT eligibility, and at least an Associate’s degree in HIM. This role offers remote options for many states and opportunities to contribute to

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines
• Associate's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Required
• Bachelor's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Codes complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS
• Queries providers following Official Query Guidelines to improve documentation
• Assigns MS-DRG and APR-DRG per regulatory guidelines for inpatient services
• Mentors and trains coders
• Collaborates with other departments to ensure documentation accuracy
• Attains coding quality and productivity goals
• Interacts with providers to request documentation clarification
