Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatient services, including LTACH and swing bed. This role queries providers, resolves edits, analyzes documentation, and educates coders.

Requires CCS/RHIA/RHIT certification options, 3 years inpatient HIM coding experience, and an associate/bachelor in HIM. Remote work is possible for select states; Missouri/Northwest Missouri base. Benefits include comprehensive wellness and parking.

Qualifications

• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines - Required
• 3 Years - experience in HIM inpatient acute care coding - Required
• CCS, RHIA or RHIT certification required or in progress per policy

Responsibilities

• Codes complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Queries providers for documentation and to demonstrate severity of illness and risk of mortality.
• Mentors and trains coders and ensures data accuracy for regulatory agencies.
