Job summary

Datavant is a remote-hiring employer seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our team. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, abstract patient records, and oversee levels 1 and 2 coders while upholding high accuracy standards and productive output.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years inpatient coding experience, AHIMA credentials, and strong communication skills to liaise with clinical staff and management. This fully remote role supports flexible scheduling and healthcare data work.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes from patient records.
• Sequence and abstract medical codes with precision and proper documentation.
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues with stakeholders.
• Uphold a 95% coding accuracy rate and a 95% MS-DRG accuracy rate.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff.
