Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to join our remote team. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, abstract records, and support audit processes to maintain high accuracy and productivity benchmarks.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years inpatient coding experience, with CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred. Strong communication skills and familiarity with hospital-based coding in an academic medical setting are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes from patient records.
• Abstract and sequence medical codes with precision.
• Oversee and audit coding accuracy and productivity benchmarks.
• Support documentation improvement opportunities and coding issue resolution.
• Maintain site-specific coding accuracy and MS-DRG accuracy.
