Job summary

LaSalle Network is partnering with a leading healthcare organization to identify an experienced Inpatient Coder to join their team in a fully remote, contract-to-hire role. The ideal candidate will have inpatient hospital coding experience and be proficient with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, plus DRG assignment and CMS guidelines.

This position offers weekly pay, remote work setup, and long-term potential with conversion to permanent staff.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional inpatient coding experience.
• Must hold one of the following certifications: CPC, RHIA, or CCS.
• Experience in a hospital or academic hospital/medical center; Level I/II Trauma Center experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to coding accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate inpatient medical coding using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Review clinical documentation, medical records, and physician notes to assign appropriate codes.
• Analyze complex inpatient cases and identify principal and secondary diagnoses.
• Assign MS-DRGs and ensure accurate reimbursement.
• Review charts for coding accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Identify documentation gaps and collaborate with internal teams as needed.
• Maintain established coding productivity and quality standards.
• Research coding guidelines and stay current with changes to coding regulations and requirements.
• Ensure coding practices align with CMS, AHIMA, and organizational guidelines.
• Work independently in a fully remote environment while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
