Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. You will assign diagnostic and procedural codes, abstract patient records, and audit coders to ensure accuracy. The role emphasizes documentation improvement and adherence to MS-DRG guidelines.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of inpatient coding experience, strong communication skills, and relevant AHIMA/AAPC credentials. Remote work offers autonomy with collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with documentation improvement and coding audits.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision.
• Audit Level 1 & 2 coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues, management, and hospital staff.
