Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years acute care hospital inpatient coding experience or completion of AdventHealth inpatient coding training.
• Certification: CCS, RHIA, RHIT, or CPC required/licensed.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding and inpatient reimbursement processes.
• Ability to interpret clinical documentation and identify coding risks.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient medical records based on clinical documentation.
• Ensure accurate DRG assignment reflecting patient acuity and severity of illness.
• Maintain productivity standards to support revenue cycle performance and participate in quality reviews.
