Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a full-time inpatient coder to work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. You will identify ICD-10 CM/PCS assignments and DRG abstraction for facility services, following official coding guidelines and client-specific rules.

Required: AHIMA and/or AAPC credentialing, 3+ years of inpatient DRG coding in acute care, and proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS and encoder-based DRG coding, plus solid Excel/EMR skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• AHIMA and/or AAPC credentialing maintained annually.
• 3+ years inpatient DRG coding in an acute care setting.
• 3+ years ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG coding with encoder.
• Intermediate Windows/Excel and EMR systems proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Identify ICD-10 CM/PCS, DRG assignment and abstraction for facility services.
• Adhere to official coding guidelines and client coding guidelines.
• Maintain up-to-date coding knowledge and participate in meetings.
• Query physicians when appropriate and ensure coding quality.
• Support departmental goals for productivity and accuracy.
