Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking an experienced Hospital Inpatient Coder to assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes after reviewing clinical documentation. The role requires MS-DRG/APR-DRG knowledge and collaboration with the CDI team to ensure complete coding profiles.

On-site work with a focus on accuracy and productivity under coding guidelines. The coder will abstract data, utilize tools like EPIC CS-Link and Solventum, and ensure timely submission for statistical reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ work experience doing code assignment in a healthcare setting.
• Professional coding certifications required upon hire (RHIT/RHIA/CPC/CCS/CCSP).

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes from documentation per guidelines.
• Identify principal diagnosis, comorbidities, and DOA indicators; determine proper DRG.
• Abstract data elements for reporting; input into systems like EPIC and Solventum.
• Collaborate with CDI team to align coding with clinical documentation.
