Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience in healthcare.
• Certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCS or CCS-P required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes per guidelines.
• Identify principal diagnosis, comorbidities, and POA indicators to determine DRG.
• Abstract data elements for reporting and statistical capture in systems (EPIC, Solventum, etc.).
• Collaborate with the CDI team to align coding approaches and ensure complete coding profiles.
• Translate medical records into standardized codes for hospital reporting.
