Job summary

Cedars Sinai is seeking an experienced Hospital Inpatient Coder in Florida to assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes by reviewing documentation and applying guidelines. You will determine principal diagnoses, comorbidities, and DRG sequencing, with emphasis on MS-DRG and APR-DRG concepts and data for reporting.

Collaborate with the Clinical Documentation Integrity team, abstract data for statistical purposes, and ensure accurate coding within EPIC CS-Link, HB, and related systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of healthcare coding experience.
• Certification: RHIT, RHIA, CPC, CCS, or CCS-P preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes by reviewing documentation.
• Identify principal diagnosis, comorbidities, and DRG sequencing.
• Ensure coding aligns with MS-DRG and APR-DRG guidelines.
