Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our remote team. You will assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS from patient records, while auditing and guiding Level 1 & 2 Coders. Excellence in documentation and a 95% accuracy target are expected.

The role requires at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, with CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred. Strong communication skills are essential for collaboration across teams and hospital staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Abstract codes from patient records with precision and documentation.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues with stakeholders.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues, management, and hospital staff.
