Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder to support an acute-care facility via remote work. The role focuses on ICD-10-CM/PCS coding with DRG assignments for a Level I trauma-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate holds AHIMA credentials (CCS, RHIT, or RHIA), has at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, and can maintain HIPAA compliance while ensuring accuracy and productivity in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA credential (CCS, RHIT or RHIA).
• 3+ years of inpatient facility coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes with MS-DRG/APR-DRG.
• Ensure compliance with AHIMA, AHA Coding Clinic, CMS guidelines.
• Query providers to clarify documentation and support correct DRG selection.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect PHI in a remote setting.
• Collaborate with HIM/CDI teams to resolve coding discrepancies.
