Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Remote Hyperscale Structured Cabling Design Engineer to lead the design and integration of high-density structured cabling systems in large-scale data center environments. You will architect fiber and copper infrastructure supporting hyperscale computing, AI workloads, cloud environments, and next-generation network deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structured cabling design experience.
• 2+ years supporting hyperscale, enterprise data centers, or colocation environments.
• Experience designing high-density fiber and copper infrastructure for mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of single-mode and multimode fiber, MPO/MTP connectivity, and Cat6/Cat6A copper solutions.
• Experience coordinating cable pathways, rack layouts, and high-density data center infrastructure.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Familiarity with BICSI, TIA/EIA, IEEE, NEC, and NFPA standards.
• Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end structured cabling solutions for hyperscale data centers.
• Develop construction documents: floor plans, rack elevations, pathway layouts, BOMs, and cost estimates.
• Design overhead and underfloor pathways with considerations for fill, bend radii, and future capacity.
• Collaborate with MEP, facilities, data center engineering, and construction teams.
• Ensure designs integrate with containment, cooling, and thermal-management systems.
• Support QA, review submittals, RFIs, and as-built documentation.
