Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to serve as the technical SME for refrigeration, HVAC and lighting controls, including OEM applications. You will collaborate with the sales team, define high-level technical requirements and coordinate with engineering to ensure successful deployment of controls and services.

The role requires a BS in engineering or related field, 2+ years in food retail/foodservice, and hands-on familiarity with building management software.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years in food retail/foodservice product development, engineering, field service, or technical support.
• Familiarity with Copeland control systems (E3, Site Supervisor, distributed controls).
• Experience with Food Retail/Foodservice Building Management Software.
• Strong analytical, coordination and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 40–50%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as customer partner and SME for refrigeration, HVAC and lighting controls.
• Act as OEM application expert.
• Monitor market trends and competitive capabilities.
• Collaborate with sales to engage customers and bring in cross-functional teams as needed.
• Draft high-level technical requirements for OEM opportunities (BOM, integrations, panels, controllers).
• Coordinate with Copeland teams to ensure deployment of controls and services.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach across land, implement, and expand phases of the sales cycle.
