Job summary

Trane Technologies seeks a Project Developer for Key Accounts to advance small commercial HVAC projects, including digital and turnkey solutions, with strong collaboration across internal teams and external partners.

You will help scope, estimate, and design opportunities, coordinating with Account Managers and service providers to deliver profitable, executable projects while aligning with customer needs and company goals. Some travel and remote work are involved.

Qualifications

• Four‑year degree in Engineering, Technical field, Business, or related field required.
• Experience supporting project development, project management, service solutions, turnkey delivery, or construction-related sales support.
• Ability to identify customer needs and translate them into practical, profitable solutions.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, building systems, and the building construction industry.
• Understanding of construction methods and practices; coordinate subcontractors and service providers.
• Ability to audit mechanical/building systems and recommend performance improvements.
• Strong estimating, scoping, and proposal support capabilities.
• Experience writing HVAC system‑level sequences of operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop small commercial HVAC, controls, connected building, digital, service, and turnkey solutions.
• Partner with Account Managers to identify profitable, executable opportunities across national owner-direct accounts.
• Assist in project scoping, concept development, solution validation, and preliminary design.
• Support budgets, RFQs, scopes, schedules, and milestones.
• Coordinate with providers and stakeholders to align delivery expectations.
• Provide technical and solution-development support throughout pursuit of opportunities.
• Manage design support and turnover to execution teams.
• Improve processes across digital, service, and turnkey offerings.
• Support customers from development through transition to operations.
• Drive customer satisfaction and long-term relationship development.
