Job summary

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.

The HV SCADA Engineer II will design, configure, test and commission HV SCADA systems on renewable and substation projects, with options for fully remote work or situational on-site office locations in Bend OR, San Diego CA, or Raleigh NC. Travel ~20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience, preferably with substation SCADA.
• Ability to read single-line diagrams and equipment drawings.
• Knowledge of protection relays and power meters.
• Experience with IEC 61131-3 programming languages is a plus.
• Experience with acSELerator RTAC and Ignition SCADA software.
• Familiarity with MODBUS, DNP3, OPC UA/DA.
• Ability to work with subcontractors and field personnel.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA requirements for substations on renewables projects.
• Support design development and drawings for HV SCADA.
• Verify substation points lists against relay and meter settings.
• Program and commission RTACs, PDCS, and HMI systems.
• Coordinate network settings and IP assignments.
• Troubleshoot communication between devices and controllers.
• Provide technical support for various substation configurations.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, field technicians during commissioning.
• Travel ~20% on-site as needed.
• Ensure safety and compliance with NERC standards.
