Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an HV SCADA Engineer II to design, configure, test, and commission HV SCADA systems for utility-scale renewables and substations. The role supports EPC delivery, offers remote work or office locations in Bend, OR, San Diego, CA, or Raleigh, NC, and requires up to 20% travel for onsite activities.

The candidate should have 2–4 years in SCADA engineering, strong knowledge of electrical drawings, relays, meters, and SCADA platforms. A related degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years SCADA engineering experience with substation systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and diagrams.
• Knowledge of protection relays, power meters, and PV monitoring is a plus.
• Experience with SCADA software such as Ignition or similar.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA requirements for substations on renewable projects.
• Support design development and drawings to meet specs.
• Verify substation points lists against relay and meter settings.
• Program and commission RTACs, Phasor Data Concentrators, and HMIs.
• Coordinate network settings and IPs for substation equipment.
• Troubleshoot comms between devices and controllers.
• Provide technical support for substation configurations.
• Engage with customers, vendors, and field technicians during commissioning.
• Ensure installation aligns with project drawings and site conditions.
• Travel estimated at 20% of duties for onsite work.
