Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an HV SCADA Engineer II to provide intermediate engineering support for design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of HV SCADA systems on utility-scale solar, storage and substation projects. This role can be fully remote or based in Bend, OR, San Diego, CA, or Raleigh, NC, with travel expected.

You will review system requirements, support design development, program RTACs/PHDCs/HMI, coordinate network settings, and troubleshoot field issues while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.
• 2 - 4 years of SCADA engineering experience (substation SCADA preferred).
• Ability to read and understand engineering design drawings including Electrical Single-line, Equipment Layout Drawings, Communications Diagrams & Panel Drawings.
• Knowledge of protection relays and power meters.
• Experience with substation SCADA interfaces and network coordination.
• Familiarity with IEC 61131-3 languages (Structured Text).
• Understanding of industrial automation protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA).
• Experience with SEL acSELerator RTAC/Quickset and Ignition SCADA is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review SCADA system requirements for substations connected to utility scale projects.
• Support HV SCADA system design development and drawings to meet project specs.
• Verify substation points lists against relay and meter settings files.
• Program and commission RTACs, PDCs, and HMI systems.
• Coordinate network settings and IP assignments for substation equipment.
• Troubleshoot communication issues between substation devices and controllers.
• Provide technical support for diverse substation configurations.
• Communicate with customers, vendors and field technicians for on-site commissioning.
