Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Human Centered Design & UX Analyst to support HCD/HFE initiatives across VA Connected Health products. You will conduct user research, develop workflows, and create artifacts such as journey maps and wireframes.

You will collaborate with product teams, clinicians, and VA leads, ensuring accessibility compliance and using VA Design System guidelines. This is a growth role with remote work within the United States.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of work experience in human-centered design, UX, or related field.
Experience with qualitative research methods and synthesizing insights into actionable recommendations.
Ability to produce and maintain design artifacts such as journey maps, personas, flows, and wireframes.
Familiarity with Mural or similar collaboration tools and facilitation skills.
Working knowledge of accessibility requirements: Section 508 and WCAG 2.2.
Strong written and verbal communication with ability to tell a clear research story.
Ability to work in a fast-paced team and manage deliverables to deadlines.
Portfolio or case studies demonstrating research or design work.

Responsibilities

Supports HCD and HFE studies using interviews, focus groups, observation, and usability testing.
Plans, conducts, and analyzes user research to derive insights and actionable recommendations.
Coordinates clinical subject matter experts and Veteran participation for studies.
Obtains participant consent and maintains interview notes when recording is declined.
Develops and maintains artifacts like journey maps, personas, and wireframes.
Assists with accessibility conformance and integration with health records where needed.
Supports field testing, user acceptance testing, and pilots with test logistics and SOPs.
Contributes to human factors engineering activities and research reporting.
Monitors app feedback and produces weekly/monthly summaries of insights.
Facilitates workshops and stakeholder meetings using Mural and VA tools.
Collaborates with product teams to refine design strategies and roadmaps.
