Job summary

LMI Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced Human-Centered Design Specialist IV - Technical Design to support the VA portfolio. This role applies human-centered design methods to the design and modernization of technical products, dashboards, and digital experiences for VA stakeholders and end users.

The role combines HCD expertise with technical fluency to translate research into implementable designs, leading complex workstreams independently.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human-Centered Design, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design, Information Design, Psychology, Information Systems, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in human-centered design, UX design, or related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex digital product or enterprise-technology design efforts.
Strong experience conducting stakeholder and user research and translating findings into actionable design recommendations.
Proficiency with design/prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, Miro, or comparable.
Experience working with software developers, architects, analysts, and technical teams.
Technical fluency to design within enterprise platforms and communicate with development teams.
Knowledge of Power Platform, SharePoint, dashboards, data visualization, and workflow systems.
Understanding of accessibility incl. Section 508 and WCAG.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end HCD activities for new technical solutions and major enhancements.
Translate stakeholder and user needs into intuitive, usable design experiences.
Design experiences for Power Platform apps, SharePoint, analytics dashboards, and enterprise platforms.
Develop information architectures, user flows, wireframes, and prototypes.
Create design specifications and handoff materials for developers.
Collaborate with architects, analysts, and product owners to ensure feasibility.
Review implementations against designs and recommend refinements.
