About the Role

Our client, a fast-growing tech company, is looking for a meticulous and experienced Remote HR Payroll Specialist to manage their payroll operations. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from any location in South Africa . You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, managing statutory deductions, and maintaining payroll records. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of South African payroll legislation and is proficient with payroll software. Key Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll accurately and efficiently on a bi-weekly or monthly basis.
• Ensure compliance with all South African payroll legislation, including PAYE, UIF, and COIDA.
• Manage statutory registrations and submissions to relevant authorities (SARS, UIF, COIDA).
• Administer and reconcile employee benefits deductions (medical aid, provident fund, etc.).
• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in the payroll system.
• Prepare payroll reports for management and finance departments.
• Respond to employee queries regarding payroll and deductions.
• Assist with year-end payroll reconciliations and submissions.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and ensure the payroll system reflects these changes.
• Collaborate with the HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll data.

Requirements

• A National Diploma in Payroll Management, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing, with a strong focus on South African payroll regulations.
• Proficiency with at least one major payroll software package (e.g., Sage, PaySpace, VIP Payroll).
• In-depth knowledge of South African tax and labor laws relevant to payroll.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines in a remote setting.
• Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
