Job summary

Sharing Excess is seeking an HR Generalist, Recruiting to lead full-cycle recruitment across multiple hub locations and departments. The role emphasizes high-volume hourly hiring and professional searches, paired with general HR responsibilities such as onboarding, HRIS updates, and policy compliance.

You will collaborate with the HR Manager and Senior HR Generalist to ensure seamless candidate experiences from first contact through day one, while upholding our mission-driven culture and values.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience
• Experience with high-volume hourly hiring and professional/salaried searches
• Familiarity with HR operations: onboarding, I-9s, HRIS, employee relations basics
• Knowledge of employment law including fair chance and pay transparency
• Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS
• Willingness to travel occasionally to hub locations
• HR Generalist experience or PHR/SHRM-CP or similar certification
• Experience recruiting in PA, NY, IL, or MI
• Nonprofit, food systems, logistics, or warehouse hiring experience
• Bilingual skills, especially Spanish

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruitment end-to-end across hubs and departments
• Partner with hiring managers to define role needs, interview plans, and criteria
• Source candidates through job boards, community partners, colleges, and referrals
• Manage high-volume hourly hiring and professional/leadership searches
• Coach managers on structured, inclusive interviewing
• Maintain ATS and keep candidates informed at every stage
• Prepare offer letters and hand off to onboarding
• Track recruiting metrics: time to fill, pipeline health, source of hire, offers
• Keep careers page current and reflect mission and culture
• Support annual hiring plan and align roles with budget
• Step in as backup HR Generalist for coverage and special projects
• Support onboarding: paperwork, I-9 verification, orientation, 30/60/90-day check-ins
• Be a point of contact for HR questions and route complex issues to HR Manager
• Keep HRIS data accurate and compliant
• Assist with compliance tasks and audits with Senior HR Generalist, Compliance & Payroll
• Support offboarding and culture initiatives
