You will collaborate with hospital teams to ensure precise coding and reporting while maintaining ongoing education and compliance. The role requires RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC-family credentials, 2+ years hospital coding, and proficiency with multiple coding specialties.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of coding experience in hospital or coding consulting.
• AHIMA or AAPC credentialing required (RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC).
• Proficiency in Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions coding.
• Experience with Ancillary, ED, Injections/Infusions, and E/M leveling.
• Strong written and verbal communication; effective in remote work.
• Experience with encoding and abstracting software; HIPAA testing.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate coding issues for follow-up and resolution.
• Maintain high accuracy and meet productivity standards.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
• Attend Datavant Health sponsored education meetings.
