Qualifications

• 2+ years of hospital coding experience
• AHIMA or AAPC credentials (CCS, CPC, RHIA, RHIT)
• Experience with Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions
• Experience with E/M leveling and ancillary coding

Responsibilities

• Review records and assign codes for diagnoses and procedures
• Sequence codes accurately based on documentation
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy
• Enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting
• Communicate documentation improvement opportunities to relevant staff
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials
• Attend sponsored education meetings
• Adhere to HIM ethics and policies
• Support teammates and demonstrate professionalism
