Job summary

Onvida Health is seeking a HIM Hospital Billing Coding Supervisor to oversee inpatient and outpatient medical coding tasks and staff. The role covers high-volume coding across specialties and requires supervision of day-to-day activities of coding staff in a remote setting.

Minimum education includes an Associate’s degree with CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials and CPC certification in good standing. Strong HIPAA knowledge and Epic experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• High degree of organization and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate, solve problems and assign work effectively.
• Experience with multiple specialty coding including Cardiology, GI, Oncology, and Orthopedics.
• Must maintain CPC certification.

Responsibilities

• Monitors coders accuracy through audits.
• Monitors coders productivity.
• Manages attendance including PTO, holidays, call-offs, schedule changes, sick time, etc.
• Runs team meetings to facilitate changes and address questions.
• Coordinates education/training to medical coders as needed.
• Counseling, coaching, and corrective action activities with HIM coding manager.
• Resolves problems and answers questions from staff promptly.
• Monitors and maintains coding supervisor workqueue.
• Preserves confidential PHI and PII.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
