Job summary

VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is seeking a full-time RHIT Licensed Medical Coding Supervisor to lead a remote team of medical coders, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure adherence to coding standards and productivity metrics.

The role requires active RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC credentials, at least 2 years of coding experience in a large hospital setting, and strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRGs, CPT/HCPCS, and E/M coding. Oracle Health workflows experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC credential, maintained throughout employment.
• Minimum of 2 years of continuous coding experience at a comparable VA medical center or large tertiary hospital.
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, DRGs, CPT, HCPCS, and E/M coding.
• Experience with Oracle Health coding workflows.
• Formal training in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and reimbursement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage coding staff, including workflow assignment, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions
• Ensure the coding program meets performance standards, including accuracy and timely completion of coding assignments
• Review audit findings, provide education to staff, and collaborate with revenue cycle teams to ensure compliance with coding guidelines
